Although still relatively new to the pike bait scene, lamprey have made a huge impact over the last few years and have accounted for a lot of fish. Lamprey are not just a pike bait either, some big zander and catfish have also fallen to this bait.
Lamprey are members of some of the extremely primitive jaw-less fishes, that feed by sucking the blood from other fish. They contain a very large amount of blood that simply oozes out of a cut bait!
Fished either on the bottom or popped-up using our Bait Poppers, lamprey are eel shaped and have a very tough skin, so they can take regular recasting and it is not unusual to catch several fish on the same bait.

Product Usage:
Lamprey are normally fished on the bottom or popped-up, on either ledger or float tackle. Sections are the perfect size to use as bait, and simply hook the top treble in to one end of the bait and the second treble in the side of the section.
A great alternative presentation, particularly for zander is to use a small chunk of lamprey on a size 8 single treble trace.
